2018 Community Environmental Council Gala

On Friday September 21st, 2018, the Community Environmental Council (CEC) hosted the Green Gala at The Lark Restaurant in Santa Barbara. Mission Wealth sponsored a table at the Green Gala event with Seth Streeter and Jessica Mora of Mission Wealth in attendance.

CEC has pioneered environmental solutions in areas with the biggest impact on climate change – most notably energy, transportation and food systems. The Green Gala helped to raise over $240,000 for the CEC.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and a variety of local spirits – including a signature cocktail – while posing for fun eco-portraits courtesy of Outrageous Booths. The reception also featured a very small and carefully curated silent auction.

Later in the evening, guests were treated to a seated three-course dinner. Designed especially for the Green Gala by The Lark’s chefs, it was served family style and featured organic ingredients from local farms.

A live auction was held after dinner. Highlights included a Tropical Fiji Getaway at the Daku Resort, a beachfront holiday in New Zealand, Platinum Passes to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, a private Condor Express harbor cruise, and an exclusive escape to Boulder, CO. All travel will include carbon offsets.

Community Environmental Council Committee Chairs Leanne Schlinger Diebolt, Carolyn Fitzgerald, and Elizabeth Wagner hosted the evening program, along with CEC CEO Sigrid Wright.

Since 1970, CEC has led the Santa Barbara region – and at times California and the nation – in creative solutions to some of the toughest environmental problems. CEC pioneers real life solutions in areas with the most impact on climate change. Their programs – including the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival – provide pathways to clean vehicles, solar energy, resilient food systems, and reduction of single-use plastic. Their commitment to excellence has made CEC one of only five nonprofits in Santa Barbara County to earn the highest possible ratings from both Guidestar and Charity Navigator.
