THE ‘THIRD AGE’ PRESENTATION

Mission Wealth Management, LLC recently partnered with Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf, the Santa Barbara Foundation, and Social Venture Partners to host a unique event featuring Dr. Peter Brill speaking about the “Third Age.” The presentation was geared towards those who are retired or phasing out of a career and focused on the various ways to attain a greater sense of joy, passion, and purpose in life.

Dr. Brill encouraged guests to embrace the endless opportunities that arise for those in this phase of life, sharing that people who regularly work to grow and develop on a personal level tend to live seven to eight years longer than those who do not. In fact, Dr. Brill explained that, second only to not smoking, personal development has the greatest influence on life expectancy.

Dr. Brill co-founded the Third Age Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting mature adults in achieving longer, healthier and happier lives. He is both a physician and psychiatrist, and over his career has been a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and the CEO of two successful, national medical companies. Since moving to Santa Barbara, Dr. Bill started his own radio show, the “Third Age,” and writes a newspaper column on the same subject.
